Chrome has focused a lot on removing cross origin data from content processes, as well as the IPC security boundary for cross origin data retrieval. Every major browser either implements telemetry or outsources the job to the upstream engine, and benefits from their having it. Period. Even Brave does telemetry, and they're quite public about their design (P3A): collected into buckets/histograms with privacy techniques like shuffling/thresholding.
